"Now we have had time to settle into our new home, I wanted to take a moment and write not only about my experience of buying my first home with Barbara Mancia, but to also reflect on what I think of her as a realtor. I know that in most cases it would most likely be irrelevant what some buyer thinks of her realtor as far as job function goes, but I am an escrow officer at First American Title and work with many realtors of all skill levels everyday.

We first met Barbara back in December when my partner Barbara Pierce and I saw her listing on 2418 Westville Trail on realtor.com. I was drawn to the property because she had great pictures of wine, the view, and a detailed description of the property which drew me in immediately. Honestly, I fell in love with the house just from her page. We were not in any sort of position to move (no jobs in the area, etc.) and I had never called a realtor for a personal matter before, but I called Barbara Mancia to see if we could see the property that weekend. She invited us up and we were nervous but excited to see the house. As soon as we got into ALT we fell in love the area and knew that this was the area in which we wanted to live.

Before my partner and I had any job prospects in the area, I suspect Barbara Mancia took us out to see at least 10 homes. She was supportive and positive throughout the struggle to find the right home. I know it would have been easy for Barbara to put us aside because we were not yet in a position to buy, but she never failed in meeting with us every chance that we had. After a few months everything fell into place and not only did the perfect job came along, but so did the perfect house.

When it came time to secure financing I did not feel comfortable going to a mortgage broker that I worked with professionally. Barbara referred us to David Bonk who was an absolute joy to work with. My job started earlier than anticipated so Barbara and Dave worked together to get us closed 2 weeks earlier than scheduled. I cannot tell you what a pleasure it was to work with the two of them together. They were always on the same page and I know what a rarity that is. I call mortgage brokers and realtors all of the time that do not communicate and I was beyond impressed with how they worked together. If I told one of the something, the other one knew. I never had to make two calls because I knew they had it together.
I actually remember sending an email two weeks before closing telling Barbara and Dave that I have never met two people like them. They immediately made us feel like family and I thanked them profusely for always standing by us.

Everyday I am in the middle of the transactions and for the most part I can control the flow of information and the closing process. When you are the buyer, you have little control. Because of Barbara and Dave, I felt confident that I did not need to "control" any part of the transaction.

On a professional level I was very impressed with how Barbara communicated not only with me and Dave, but with the listing agent. We ran into a few snags with her, but Barbara kept her cool and always had our best interest at heart. I knew she was taking care of us and would protect our best interests.

We cannot speak highly enough of Barbara Mancia. She made buying our first home easy and she did it effortlessly."
